The Edinburgh University Renaissance Singers form one of the three auditioned choirs at the University of Edinburgh. We are made up of students, alumni, staff, and friends of the university. Founded over 50 years ago, we are based in the Reid School of Music in central Edinburgh.
As the name suggests, we regularly perform renaissance-era music both within Edinburgh and across the UK. However, we do occasionally incorporate medieval, baroque, and modern works into our repertoire. Aside from our regular concerts, we perform at private functions such as weddings and memorial services. We also go on tour every spring and have performed all over Europe, including in Armenia, Rome, Croatia, and most recently Portugal and Galicia.
We are an inclusive, multinational community committed to high-standard sight-reading and a cappella performance. Rehearsals take place every Wednesday of term.
